CLINICAL TESTING

HRIPT: 6-Week Clinical Trial conducted under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist:

le lait successfully completed a 6-week HRIPT (Repeated Insult Patch Test) conducted under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist with 55 subjects. Results confirmed the formula to be non-irritating and non-sensitizing — the gold standard for skin safety testing.

Consumer Perception Clinical Study:

le lait underwent a 4-week consumer perception clinical study that was conducted with 28 participants to evaluate real-world performance.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Colostrum:

Known as “the first milk” and “liquid gold” because of its rich color and vital health benefits. It provides local immune support through immunoglobulins (IgG), lactoferrin, + growth factors that defend the skin barrier against microbial threats and environmental stressors. This calms the look of redness & reactivity, supports barrier resilience, & strengthens the skin’s outermost layer against pollution, climate, & daily aggressors.

Modukine™:

This highly exclusive milk-derived protein complex calms sensitive, dry, easily irritated skin by reducing inflammatory signaling at the cellular level. Think skin that reacts less, and recovers faster when it does.

Schizophyllan:

Known to reduce transepidermal water loss and turn a tight, irritated surface into a receptive one. This is because your serums & actives deserve to land on skin that’s ready for them, not fighting against them.

Sclareolide:

A clary sage concentrate that limits the bacteria & yeast that trigger breakouts & flare-ups, without the harshness of a traditional blemish active.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is le lait safe to use during pregnancy or while nursing?

le lait is considered to be pregnancy safe as none of the ingredients in the formulation are recognized as ingredients to avoid during breastfeeding or pregnancy.

Additionally, le lait does not contain retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, fragrance, phthalates, or other ingredients flagged by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as contraindicated during pregnancy, making it as pregnancy safe as any cosmetic product on the market can be!

As with any skincare product, please feel free to consult with your OB prior to using.

Can le lait be used for all skin types?

Yes. le lait was formulated with all skin types in mind, including dry, oily, combination, acne-prone, and sensitive skin.

As a first-step essence, le lait is designed to sit underneath the rest of your routine. Its lightweight, milky texture absorbs quickly and layers easily under serums, moisturizers, SPF, and makeup without feeling greasy or heavy. The formula contains no added fragrance.

Its key ingredients target the concerns most skin types share. Colostrum and Modukine™ calm the look of redness and reactivity. Schizophyllan helps reduce transepidermal water loss, so skin stays hydrated and receptive. Sclaerolide limits the bacteria and yeast that trigger breakouts. Together, that makes le lait as well-suited to dry, tight skin as it is to oily, breakout-prone skin.

In our consumer perception clinical study, 100% of participants reported le lait addresses multiple skin concerns at once, and 96% reported the other products in their routine work better.* le lait has also undergone HRIPT testing, confirming no sensitization reactions under repeated use — particularly relevant for sensitive and reactive skin types.

As with any new skincare product, we recommend patch testing before full application.

Can I use le lait if I have sensitive or reactive skin?

Yes. le lait was specifically formulated for sensitive and reactive skin — calming it is one of the main things le lait is designed to do.

le lait has undergone HRIPT (Human Repeat Insult Patch Test) testing, a clinical assessment that evaluates a formula's sensitization potential under repeated use. The study confirmed no sensitization reactions were observed — the gold standard used to substantiate tolerability claims for sensitive and reactive skin.

Several deliberate formulation decisions also support this. The formula is fragrance-free — fragrance is the most well-documented source of contact sensitization in cosmetic formulations. Modukine™, a milk-derived protein complex, is included at its full recommended use level to calm sensitive, dry, easily irritated skin by reducing inflammatory signaling at the cellular level. Colostrum provides local immune support through immunoglobulins (IgG), lactoferrin, and growth factors that help calm the look of redness and reactivity. Schizophyllan helps reduce transepidermal water loss, turning a tight, irritated surface into a calm, receptive one.

In our 4-week consumer perception clinical study, 100% of participants reported their skin felt less sensitive and reactive, 100% reported their skin felt less tight and irritated, 100% said le lait was calming even on a bad skin day, and 93% noticed less redness.*

As with any new skincare product, we recommend patch testing before full application.

Is le lait safe to use if I have a dairy intolerance?

le lait contains bovine colostrum and Modukine™, a milk-derived protein complex, so it helps to know the difference between a dairy intolerance and a dairy allergy.

A dairy (lactose) intolerance is a digestive condition: the body has trouble breaking down lactose, the natural sugar in milk, during digestion. Skincare applied to the skin is not digested, so a lactose intolerance on its own is generally not a reason to avoid topical milk-derived ingredients.

A milk allergy is different. It is an immune response to milk proteins, and because le lait contains milk-derived proteins, anyone with a diagnosed milk allergy should consult their doctor or dermatologist before use.

le lait's HRIPT testing found no sensitization reactions under repeated use across 55 participants over 6 weeks. As with any new skincare product, we recommend patch testing on a small area, such as behind the ear or along the jawline, for 24–48 hours before full application.

Is le lait safe to use if I am acne-prone?

Yes. le lait was specifically formulated with acne-prone skin in mind.

Milky textures can be a red flag for acne-prone skin, since many creamy formulas rely on heavy oils and butters that can clog pores. le lait pairs its milky texture with ingredients chosen to support clear skin rather than work against it.

Sclaerolide, a clary sage concentrate, limits the bacteria and yeast that trigger breakouts and flare-ups without the harshness of a traditional blemish active, so it works alongside your skin barrier instead of drying it out. Colostrum's lactoferrin and immunoglobulins help defend the skin barrier against microbial threats, and Modukine™ calms the inflammatory signaling that makes a blemish look red and angry. The formula also contains no added fragrance — another well-documented trigger for inflammatory responses that can present as breakouts.

In our 4-week consumer perception clinical study, 96% reported their skin recovers faster from blemishes or breakouts, 96% reported their blemishes calmed faster or they had fewer new ones, and 89% said le lait calms their skin before irritation or breakouts come to the surface.*

le lait has also undergone HRIPT testing conducted under board-certified dermatologist oversight across 55 participants over 6 weeks, with no sensitization reactions observed.

As with any new skincare product, we recommend patch testing before full application.

Is le lait dermatologist tested?

Yes. le lait has been dermatologist tested and clinically validated.

The formula underwent HRIPT (Human Repeat Insult Patch Test) testing conducted under board-certified dermatologist oversight across 55 participants over 6 weeks, evaluating the formula's sensitization potential under repeated use. No sensitization reactions were observed. Full study documentation is on file.

Does le lait contain fragrance?

No. le lait is fragrance free. No fragrance or parfum was added at any stage of formulation, and the finished product contains no detectable scent.

Fragrance is the most well-documented source of contact sensitization in cosmetic formulations. Because le lait is the first step in your routine — the layer that sits directly on freshly cleansed skin — we kept it fragrance-free on purpose. This makes it suitable for sensitive, reactive, and fragrance-intolerant skin types.
